Cool Buddies

Hey Stampers, Anni here! Today I have a clean and simple christmas card for you!

I love snow men stamps and I can't stay away from the sweet set Cool Buddies! They are so darn cute! And I wanted to try out the curved edge obviously inspired by Kristina Werner (here).

  • Stamp, color and fuzzy cut the snow men.
  • Adhere them with dimensional adhesive to your card base.
  • Die cut a curved edge from cardstock and stamp your sentiment.
  • Assemble the card.

  • You could easily copy this card layout for other occassions and use other critters! I would love to make this card using the set Friends in the Wood or a non cute version with flowers or leaves.
  • Be inspired by details of other card designer's project. You don't have to case a whole card you could only pick one detail and see if it works with your style.

We LOVE to see your creations using Create a Smile products! Add your link to the sidebar! You have the chance to win a prize!

Saturday Scrap Scenes with Terhi - The Box

Hello everyone, it's Terhi here with another Create A Smile scrapbook layout. While I was waiting some new products - especially the Snow Dance Kit - to arrive, I played with my favorite stencil and it lead me to do this cool layout.

As said, the Boxes Stencil gave me a huge inspiration, but so gave this funny photo as well. My husband was playing with our daughters and the moment was just hilarious.

Being creative doesn't have to be difficult or tricky. Just take your favorite tool, favorite stamp, favorite paper or something what you really love and play with it. See where it takes you, it might be the best project you've ever done.

Please find the video below or watch it here.

Let's Get Leafy!

Hello!
Samantha here again, and today I'm sharing on my favorite layouts that I've made in a while!

I used a lot of leaf images, and did a lot of watercolor - but it was all FUN!

I really had a hankering to create a layout with lots of pops of color! So that's what I did! Those various leaf images are just SOOOOOO gorgeous, and the duvet cover is a leafy pattern, so it worked for me! :)

To create a layout like this, you'll need watercolor paper, and scissors!! Ha!

- stamp each leaf image at least 3 times onto watercolor paper (you won't need all of leaves, but this lets you experiment with color, placement, etc!)

- watercolor with you preferred watercolor mediums. I used Distress Markers!
- set aside to dry; once dry, add more color and more water to create the 'water' look!
- once dry, fussy cut out and attach them to your background in the desired pattern (the background paper I chose was a little busy, so I used some white gesso to tone down the pattern in the center of the page!)

- using my sewing machine, I stitched over the entire 'pile' of leaves in a messy fashion
 - i added a few black and white leaves around the flair button, and added some light embellishing.

I used my favorite leafy set EVER: A Time to Say Thanks, as well as the beautiful Botanical Love stamp set!

I love to make scrapbook pages, in addition to cards! But if you strictly a card maker, you could adapt this to fit cards! And bonus: you don't need to color or cut as many leaves! Ha! I think a card with a bold sentiment nestled into a brilliant pile of leaves would be beautiful on a card!

I just wanted to let everyone know, in case you get a little shipping-shy...the shipping rate all over the world is reasonable and LOW! It's so easy to order from Create a Smile, and if you ever have any questions, you can always refer here or email: info@createasmilestamps.com

Thanks again! :)

Warm Wishes

Hello crafty friends, Yoonsun here! I’m continuing to share with you my holiday card with Snow Dance Kit.

There are a lot of great supplies inside the Snow Dance Kit -sentiment chipboard, snowflake die, adorable Santa stamp, and Christmas twine, and many more... We can easily make pretty holiday cards with it!!

  • Stamp Santas onto white card stock with black ink, colour them with Copic markers.
  • Apply "warm wishes' chipboard using embossing ink, gold heat emboss it.
  • Die cut snowflake from white card stock, use small snowflake die cuts.
  • Tie the Christmas twine on top of the card.
  • Embellish with a few enamel stickers, sequins.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy holiday crafting!!

Foxy Thank You

Hello Crafters!

It's Kelly here and today I'm sharing some simple masking with a fall card.

I thought this little fox would be super cute on a bed of fall leaves. With his little scarf he looks like he's all ready for fall!

I began by stamping a few leaves and then masked them. I stamped my fox and masked him too before finishing up the stamping of the leaves.

The sentiment was stamped below and accented with some clear sequins. I can't stop using these :)

The fox is originally part of a winter set but with just a few color choices he's ready for fall. Look at the stamps you own and see what else they can be :)

Thanks for visiting!
