You're the Sweetest Card

Hi there!
Samantha here, and today I am sharing a happy, and sweet thank you card!

As I was flipping through my stamps, I came across these adorable images on the A Little Treat stamp set and knew I had to make a card with those big grins on the popsicles! lol!

Let's make this card together!

- first, I stamped colored all the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then once they were all dry, I fussy cut them out!
- I used Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend the background! the colors I used were Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose
- then I used the stencil and some clear embossing paste (which I mixed with some sequin stars to add some texture!!)

- I die cut out the letters from black cardstock and then very delicately glued them on the background! lol!
- next, I heat embossed the rest of the sentiment in white onto a black strip and added it to the card!
- I die cut out the panel with the scalloped rectangle, too!

- I also stamped some images in black on the base of the card for a little contrast!

I love that texture inside the scattered hearts of clear embossing paste! I mixed some star sequins into the clear embossing paste on my kraft mat, and then spread it through the stencil!

The "merry" letters were die cut out with the Cherry Lowercase Cool Cuts and sweetest popsicles ever are from the A Little Treat stamp set! The background features the pretty Scattered Hearts stencil! I also used the Cool Cuts Scalloped Rectangles to die cut out the panel!

There is ALWAYS a fun challenge going on in the Create a Smile Stamp Facebook group page! It's fun and filled with prizes! I love seeing all of the incredible, unique and amazing inspiration!

Without You

Hi all you fabulous Create a Smile crafters!  It's Candice with you today to share a not so favorite card I created and share a little secret about Designer's!

Sooo, I came very close to not sharing this card.  I had an idea in mind of what I wanted to create and well it didn't come out as good as I hoped.  I decided to share it and share that even designer's have new techniques and ideas not come out the way we want!  You are not alone in this!  Designer's just usually don't share the cards that don't work the way they want!

I will share how I made this and I would love to see if you could take this design and create something different with it and share in the Create a Smile FB page!

-For the background, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to fit my 5 x 6 1/2 card base and stamped the open eucalyptus from the Breathe In, Breathe Out stamp set in greys and purple.

-I then cut it with the larger stitched rectangle frame die and on the outer piece I stamped certain sections with the solid eucalyptus from the You Can Do It! stamp set in purples.

-I die cut the two layered stitched frames with the top layers in grey and then cut one more time with the smaller with thick white cardstock.

-Next, I heat embossed the "without you" in silver and stamped the smaller sentiment underneath in purple.

-To finish, I simply added some sequins and clear domes!

Please share your take on my card on the Create a Smile FB page to give me some much need inspiration and I can take it and try my hand at a new card in this design from your inspiration!

Thank you for letting me share!

Riding by to say hi

Hello crafty friends, it's Kerstin here!

The snow is slowly melting around here and I'm ready for spring. That's why I had to work with the best bugs stamp set.

I love to combine stamp sets that weren't made to mix with each other. And I find it super cute when a bug rides a bike.

  • choose stamp sets that don't fit at first sight, for example a seagull and a sofa or - like here - a bug and a bike
  • stamp the bug first and mask the lower part of its bud with some masking paper
  • then stamp the bike and some flowers separately
  • color and fussy cut the image
  • add some soft clouds to the background with a stencil
  • adhere the image with foam adhesive to the panel
  • for the sentiment I used some leftover paper in the same color as the bugs back

We love to see your creations. Please use the hashtag #createasmilestamps when you are sharing your projects on instagram.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,
Kerstin
