Birthday Surprise

Hi everyone and welcome back to our creative space!
Raluca here with a brand new card showcasing two older stamp sets from Create a Smile Stamps shop.

The unicorns from the Superpowers stamp set are my favorites and I wanted to create a rainbow in the sky for one. Although I did this card before I got the new Cool Cuts Stitched Circle Frames die set, you could totally use that one for creating this fun rainbow. Hope you'll give it a try!

* First I die cut a white panel using the largest rectangle die from the Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles set.
* Using a cloud stencil and a make up brush I ink blended the clouds on the white panel.
* I die cut the rainbow from different colored cardstock and some clouds from white cardstock and mounted them on the card.

* On a white panel I stamped the adorable unicorn from the Superpowers and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.
* After the coloring was done I fussy cut the image and mounted it on one of the clouds, near the rainbow.
* Under the fun rainbow I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Sampler using a black ink.
* I mounted the panel on a white card base, glued a few clear sequins and my card aws done.

Sunflower

Hi there, Nicole here with a flower card inspiration for you.

I got some new watercolor markers by Faber Castel a while ago and was playing around quite a lot with them. I wanted to try no-line coloring with them and that's how this card started.

  • stamp your flower with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper
  • add some color with your watercolor marker (any watercolor marker will do) where you want your shadows to be
  • add water with a water brush or a paint brush and let the colors fade out to create some depth
  • continue to add color to the shadow areas
  • for the background I used a stencil and moved it after every layer of ink blending (details on the pictures below) I did three layers using two shades of green Distress Inks
  • die cut your panel using a rectangle die
  • adhere your flower to the panel using foam tape
  • stamp your sentiment in a matching green ink, I used Distress Oxide Ink

  • if you find it difficult to add dark colors to the small shadow spots on your card with a brush, let your coloring dry and add the shadows with some color pencils.
  • moving your stencil around can create new and fun looks

We have fun challenges for you to play along! Check out the blog for the bi-weekly challenge or our Create A Smile Friends & Family Facebook Group for the monthly challenge.

Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day,

Beekini - Season

Hello there!  Chris here with you today with a funny card with this little new cutie from Create a smile stamps.

Originally, I wanted to make a baby card with the litte bee, but when I finished coloring it looked too much like a Bikini. So I decided it should be(e) a funny summer card.

  • first I stamped all images and coloured with Alcohol Markers
  • cut them out and arranged a little scene with the flowers and the bee
  • for the Background I only made some Distress ink oxide blending (Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass)
  • cut out a frame with the new Cut Dies (twice and stick together)
  • with the new letter stamps you can create any sentiment you like
  • glued down all images - that´s all :)

...sometimes we should think "around the corner" try different colors on your stamps and you will see - there are many new ways to create ....

All Products I used for this little card are new items from the June Release and available on friday 14th .

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a happy, sunny, healthy summer (beekini) time.

Chris
