Last minute........

We are only 4 days away from Christmas so here are some last minute tags/cards I would like to share with you.

I don't know about you but somehow I always have to do some last minute cards or giftwrapping tags for Christmas. So for today I would like to share with you some spinnertags I made to go with some christmaspresents.

I first diecut 4 banners out of white cardstock. Two of them I inked up using two different stencils. Next I stamped the two images and to create the spinner I mirror stamped them also. Did some quick coloring and fuzzy cut them. Diecut a circle out of the banners and placed some thin wire between the images and the two banner diecuts. To finish it up I diecut the little banner out of white cardstock and placed it on top. Some ribbon and twine and an embellishment and stamped the sentiment.

Stamps;

Cool Buddies, Make a Wish and Smiling Snowflakes.

Dies;

Stacked pierced banners.

Stencil;

Nautical stars

In the past we have showed the mirrorstamping before but just a reminder it's very easy you can either use some big solid stamp or some transparancy to stamp your image you want to mirror and then stamp it on your paper.
When you diecut the circle out of your banner make sure to tape it and the two banner diecuts together so you will have a matching diecut circle.
Here I used a rather thick wire when you use some thinner wire the image will spin easier.

Have a great week and a very merry Christmas.
Thanks for stopping by,

Anja

Cookie-Bag-Tags :-) .......delicous

Hi everyone,
maybe you missed my sunday-video? And also on the next sunday there will be no video. But today you have my compensation for this :-)

The last week I had off and used my free time to bake some christmas-cookies. Maybee you already have seen all my cookies on instagram.
My mom is my big idol. Every year she does a thousands (nearly) of christmas-cookies and give them away for friends, teachers of her water-gym, post-men/women, families and nearly everybody she is meeting in christmas-time. I thinks she does 26 varieties. And during the years I followed her example and now everybody is waiting for my cookie-bags... but I only do 8 varieties.. hihi

And now I thought, all these cookie-bags are a good cause for my new create-a-smile-video :-)

This Video is in German

Try something new... I always colored my snowmen in light-blue. But why not trying doing it violet? Beige? soft-cold-green?

Ho,ho,ho........................

Hi there it's me again with another christmascard to show you.

I needed some more cards for my christmascard stash so I went through my stamps and when I saw the wild waters stamp this idea came to me.

I first took a cardbase and stamped the little image from the smiling snowflakes stamp and gold heat embossed it. Sprayed some gold glitter at random on the background. I diecut the frame out of vellum and gold heatembossed the wild waters stamp. Stamped colored and fuzzy cut the little Santa en tucked it behind the diecut. The sentiment was white heat embossed on some black cardstock. To give it some more interest I put some gold thread behind the sentiment , gave Santa some golden glasses and stamped the ho,ho,ho.

Stamps;

Wild waters and Smiling snowflakes.

Cool cuts;

Magical frames and Stacked pierced ovals.

There are still some stampsets in prize reduced and when they are gone they are gone so if you want to have a christmasgift now is your chance.

Happy holidays....

It's almost December so we are counting down towards the holidays. Decorating the house and making christmascards. For today another christmascard to share.

I wanted to make a christmascard and using some stamps that weren't supposed to be christmasstamps. So I used the whimsical wheels stampset. And combined it with some christmasstamps.

I first created a background for my card by stamping the stars from the smiling snowflakes stampset in versamark watermark ink and gold heat emboss them. I sponged the background with several distress ink colors. Now I stamped the image from the whimsical wheels and placed some presents with the stampset from the snow dance kit. Copic colored and fuzzy cut the train. I created a snowhill by tearing some white cardstock and ahered the whole to the card. Made some shadows with a copic marker, stamped the sentiment and rounded the corners of the card.
Ofcourse I had to give it some extra shine with a wink of stella glitterpen.

Stamps;
Smiling snowflakes and whimsical wheels.

There is a sale on some to be retired stampsets and when they are gone they are gone so you better hurry. Maybe an idea for a christmaspresent? For today's card I used two of them.

Have a great week,

Anja

Pretty Purple Penguins!

Hello!
Samantha here today, and I'm sharing a super easy to make, but fun Christmas card!

Let's dive in, shall we?

I don't know about any of you, but I love to watercolor! But sometimes, I get stuck in a rut, and I use the same color combinations all the time! So today, I wanted to try out some new to me Distress Marker combinations for my Christmas card!

To create this card, you'll need watercolor paper, your preferred watercoloring medium, and some embossing paste!

- on a piece of watercolor paper, stamp your images
 - I watercolored with Distress Markers, and instead of opting for my typical warm grey color scheme for penguins (which I really do love!), I went with some pinks and purples!!
- I used Worn Lipstick, Aged Mahogany and Seedless Preserves for the main colors of the penguins! So FUN!
- once the images are dry, I fussy cut them out

- on the card front, use some white embossing paste and the Waves of Snowflakes stencil to create the fun background!
- once that is dry, add some watercoloring on top with Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks in a loose fashion
- set aside to dry!
- then you're ready to add the 'grass' (which is really just torn pieces of washi) and stamp the sentiment!

I used the super adorable Cool Buddies stamp set, along with Smiling Snowflakes and Friends in the Woods! The stencil is the Waves of Snowflakes stencil!

When I color images, I rarely pay attention to what colors animals are in real life! I love the whimsy that coloring images in non-traditional colors brings! Purple penguins...yes please! And that is coming from someone who would usually rather watercolor with my foot than use purple! Lol!

We have a super awesome release week next week!!!! You're not going to want to miss it!! Be sure to follow Create a Smile Stamps on Facebook, to keep up with all the news!!

Thanks again!

Video with Snowflake Box

Hi everybody, Birka here :-)
I'm totally in christmas-card mood, and also I need to craft a lot of stuff for my first christmas-fair in December. And because I don't want to sell only cards, I will do some little boxes. And yes, one of these boxes is ready now. Wohooo

I know, it sounds very mean when I say: Me and the smiling snowflakes, it was not love at the first sight. Maybe BECAUSE of the smiling. But than I decided to take my exacter-knife and cut out all the smiles. It was hard, but now I have TWO good things: I now have the world prettiest snowflakes, and I have 4 smiling faces I can use on EVERY stamp I want to. This comforting away all the cutting-pain ;-)

Of course I asked Christine before I cut out the smiles AND take a video with it. But to my relief she really had no problem with this and enjoyed my creative way to make these stamps to my new friends.

Make sure, that you first color your image and than fuzzy-cut ist. So you have a better chance to handle it without to grab into the color.

What is better than a little christmas-box? A little christmas-box WITH a suitable card :-)
This card you woun't find in the video, but I did it the same way.
