Stamped Gift Boxes with Terhi Koskinen

Hello everyone!

Terhi here today continuing my experiments as a papercrafter, more than a scrapbooker. Today I decided to make giving and sharing even more beautiful, by altering these little gift boxes with gorgeous stamps. Take a look!

Pinterest, as all internet, is a great place to get inspired. There are millions of tutorials of how to fold a gift box, and as folding isn't my personal passion, we'll skip that part and I'm using ready made ones. But, to alter them, I chose the happiest and pretties stamps and sentiments!
The idea is partly inspired by Christmas, but the idea goes to any gift wrapping, just choose stamps to coordinate with your occasion.

As long as you are in stamping mood, take some coordinating paper and cut some gift tags in the same time. It makes your gift even more perfect and pretty.
I went even one step further by decorating some of my gift with a flair buttons that can be purchased from Create A Smile store. The receiver will get a nice and pretty gift, and a memory too. The flair button can be used later as a fridge magnet or any other little decoration.

Traditional Christmas cards by Terhi Koskinen

Hello Create A Smile fans!

Terhi here today, with Christmas cards. Yes, as a scrapbooker I went far away from my comfort zone and created simple Christmas cards.

The basic idea was to create as simple cards as possible. I'm the kind of person who get bored fast, so I wanted to create something my daughters can re-create and be inspired by if they want to. They are passionate little crafters and always copying my samples, so this time I actually took advantage of it. I made these six, they made lots more.

In order to craft with kids, let them be creative! I made the sample, left all material for them but I didn't give them specific instructions how to do it. Rolling die cutting machine is exciting for them (well, for me too :D) so they did that by themselves as well. It's not that serious if the frames aren't even, or there is glue all over. It's fun, it's handmade and it's creative!

Stamps: Make A Wish

Did you notice our newest kit? It's called 'Frosty Fun' I highly recommend you to take a look - it's amazing! You'll find it here.

Mandala fun with Terhi Koskinen

Happy Monday all!

Terhi here sharing some really serious Mandala love. I never thought any stamp would make me so inspired and so excited, but this did. The perfect size (about 6"x6"), the perfect rubber material and mostly the perfect design makes me goose bumps.

Not much to say about the idea, I think it's really obvious. I just wanted to some stamping and then try out coloring with watercolors. If take a close look, you can see there is nothing to protect the white cardstock on the background. No gesso, nothing, but still the colors are just about in the right area.

If you want to have free and arty look to your stamping work, forget the rulers and measures. Just let it go and try. You can see my Mandala edges is not straight and even, but the outcome of the layout still works perfectly. Don't be shy, just find your inner artists.

Cool cuts love with Terhi Koskinen

Hello all!

Terhi here sharing my love for Cool cuts (Dies), with this cute little scrapbook layout. The picture is taken last spring, there is my younger one and our puppy, posing to camera when cuddling.

I've been scrapping for many years now, but somehow I haven't have opportunity to get any cutting machine for me until this summer. So when I had it finally, I wanted to cut things. A lot. And that's how this layout was born, with a lot of different Cool Cuts.

The recipe for this layout is really simple. I just made a lot of frames in different sizes and added them together as a paper cluster behind my photograph. When I was ready with the design, I wanted to do some stencil work on the background, to make more interest and dimension.
I used the new Diamonds stencil and added teal green ink with a sponge through it. Simple technique, which never goes out of style!

As the teal green ink was quite light, I draw some diamonds with free hand, using black marker. That created nice contrast to the page!

Dreamcatching with Terhi Koskinen

Hello Create A Smile Fans!

Terhi Koskinen here sharing my favorite layout for this year - I can't stop staring those big blue eyes together with those gorgeous Funky Feathers.

As I'm not used to use feathers as usual embellishments, I had to options in my mind. Either adding the feathers on the background, or stamping and fussy cutting them to hang from picture. Went with the second idea, and somehow during the process I got idea of a dreamcatcher.

Whole creating process is recorded on a video, take look here:

Embossing is easy, fun and effective. And it's never out of style, so don't forget to use it.

I hope feel inspired after seeing this layout, I personally loved creating it!
