A Sweet Birthday Treat Card

Hi there!
Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a sweet little birthday cad, with just the CUTEST little critter!

Honestly, that elephant is the cutest image and *always* one of my favorites! I think it makes ANY card just adorable! ha - instant adorable-ness!

Let's make this card together!

- I started by stamping and coloring the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! Once everything was dry, I fussy cut them out!
- I used Black Soot, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks to create the ink blended background, which I die cut with some stitched rectangle dies!
- then I used the twinkle stencil with white embossing paste to create the starry night scene!

- I popped up the phrase banner and elephant and candy image with foamy tape, and everything else was glued down directly to the background!
- I finished off the card with some glitter on the party hat and little heart in the cloud!

I kind of used the lollipop image as a balloon *and* a candy image! It helps the sentiment to make sense, and it also is a fun pop of color! I love it!

I used the Twinkle Stencil for the background! The images are from the Paw Prints, First Day of School, and A Little Treat! I also used the Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles Die Set!

There is ALWAYS a fun challenge going on in the Create a Smile Stamp Facebook group page! It's fun and filled with prizes! I love seeing all of the incredible, unique and amazing inspiration!

It Can't Rain All the Time

Welcome!  Candice with you today sharing a card to uplift any friend!

I was scrolling through Pinterest pinning color inspirations and came across this color palette and thought they would look amazing with the cactus set, Sharp One!

-For the background, I first heat embossed the don't worry in white and then inked over the diamonds stencil with pumice stone.

-Next, I stamped all the images from the sharp one stamp set, colored with copic markers and cut out using my scan n' cut.

-Copic colors I used:  blues-BG75, BG72, BG70  pinks-RV95, RV93, RV91  purples-V28, V25, V22, V20  greys-W4, W2, W0

-To finish the card, I die cut the banner from black cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment in white and added a sequin and some purple nuvo drops.

I tried a variety of color combos on the cacti with really cool results using the combo of copics listed above.  This allows you to create a flow on your card using a smaller amount of colors.

Clean and Simple Koala Card

Hello there, Nicole here.

After all the christmas card making I really enjoy diggin' through my non-christmassy stash and picking out favorites like the fun koala pirates set called All Hands On Deck. I went for my all time favorite cardmaking style: clean & simple.

I was simply in the mood for a cute critter on a clean and simple card. I enjoy creating a pop of color on a mostly white space with a cute image as the focal point and some little extras that make the card interesting.

  • stamp the critter on alcohol marker friendly paper with your go-to ink for alcohol markers. Mine all time favorite ink is Memento Tuxedo Black.
  • color cour image and cut it out.
  • chose where your focal point should be and start stamping the background. I used different shades of green to make the background look more dimensional.
  • give your critter a place to stand on. It doesn't need much. A few dots are enough to make it look like he's standing on sand or rocks.
  • add your little pirate with foam tape
  • stamp your greeting in crisp black ink (I used Versafine Onyx Black)
  • add a little something with Glossy Accents on the nose or some white gel pen details

Think around the corner. I needed small dots and found some in my flowers collection. But I was looking for super small ones as well and ended up with dots from an alphabet set. It's so fun to use stamps in unexpected ways.

Stamping a leaf with a light green ink looks nice. But you can easily add more interest to the leaf if you add a darker shade of ink to parts of your stamp using a small sponge dauber. If you take a closer look at my card, you can see some kind of gradient or ombré look on the leaves.

Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Have a happy day,
Nicole

Hugs, Hugs & More Hugs!

Welcome crafty friends! Candice with you today sharing a card full of hugs!

I love the new Cherry Alphabet & Numbers cool cuts and wanted to use them to create a word background.  Sometimes it's fun to create a card around a word, sentiment or background instead of the stamps!  Try it the next time you need some inspiration.

For the background, I first die cut many HUGS using the Cherry Uppercase cool cuts from the striped pattern paper found in the new Wonderful Winter Kit.  I also die cut one large HUGS from black cardstock using my cameo to fill in behind my stamp.  I drew light pencil marks to line them up easier and just erased after.  I backed it in black along with some washi tape.

Next, I stamped the penguin (also in the kit), mice & mug, colored with copic markers and fussy cut out.  The straw is from your favorite ice cream stamp set and stamped on the pattern paper.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white for an extra pop and a place for the mug to sit on.
