Guest Designer Amy Tsuruta Part III (Last part, sniff!)

Hi there,

al you all know Amy Tsuruta joined us this month to bring some gorgeous projects and iinspiration to you.
Check our her Intro and Part I and Part II if you haven't done so far.

Today we have a simple, glittery card using Your View:

Like in part I she used a cardbase with distressed edges - so beautiful, don't you think? It's a quick card without fancy coloring or fuzzy cutting - it's the texture the rocks the card! Make sure to follow Amy's blog  to find more inspiring work, great ideas and perfect execution!

Amy, thank you so much for being our guest, it was a pleasure to see and share your Create A Smile creations! I know you'll come up with many more that inspire the readers AND the team :)

Guest Designer Amy Tsuruta - Part 2

Happy wednesday!

Wednesdays are guest-days! I know you all love Amy Tsuruta's work and this one will be no exception.

I have to say that this card was the first Create A Smile project with the new sets that Amy showed me - and I instantly fell in love with the softness, that she created.

Look at this stunner!

This is such a fun CAS card with lots of detail:
Amy stamped the lily from Jungle Fever twice. Her coloring, leaving a white outline on each flowers - looks amazing! Whenever I try to leave parts of an image white I end up filling it with a light color. Amy totally rocked this!
The jar made of vellum (I guess so?) with that aqua color is adorable with the flowers. And that twine with a tiny tag and out tiny "peace" sentiment from Your view??? It makes it all perfect. Mounted on a black card gives a lot of contrast (another thing I find hard to do - black cards with white panels!). Wowzers!

I would LOVE to get a card like this - what about you? You can see that it's made with love and creativity.

I hope this sparked your creativity - it sure encouraged me to try that coloring technique again.
Hop over to Amy's blog to see more of her gorgeous creations and leave her some love!

Thanks for visiting us!

Guest Designer Amy Tsuruta - Part1

Hello crafty peeps,

wednesday ist guest-day. As you all now the wonderful, talented, kind Amy Tsuruta is our guest this month. You can read her intro here.

Today Amy has a beautiful CAS card to share with you. (Btw: Did you notice that CAS is also the shortcut for Create A Smile? I love it!).
She used Your View to create this little scene. What I love most about this card are the distressed edges and how she stamped the sentiment onto a tiny tag.

I think those little details have a big impact - especially on CAS cards that are all about the details. Coloring the hat in pink and adding some pink twine pulls it all together!

Let's talk about details on CAS cards, what are your favorite ones? I like to use
- (drops of) glossy accents
- Wink of stella
- wood veneers
- vellum (White or colored, torn or cut)
- enamel dots

I really don't use a lot of embellishments, but just a tiny but to give some interest to a card. I know, I've said that a couple of times, but I really prefer cards that have some detail to touch and feel. :)

Maybe you would like to see us use a certain type of embellishment - what would you like to see?
Are there any embellishments that you love but have a hard time using? (It's flairs for me! Love them, but have a hard time incorporating them to cards).
Let's chat about it ;) You can leave a message here or over on our Facebook-page

Have a nice day, thanks for stopping by and leaving Amy some love! :)

Welcome to our August Guest Designer: Amy Tsuruta!

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Amy Tsuruta as our Guest Designer for August - YAY!

Amy is of the most talented CAS cardmakers and one of the loveliest and most supportive persons out there. She's a genius in designing cards that make my jaw drop and takes a lot of time to support fellow crafters.
I don't know where we first met - it must have been some time ago, probably on another Design Team.

Let's see what's Amy got to say about herself:

Hi!  My name is Amy and I've been blogging over at Tsuruta Designs since 2007.  One of the many reasons why I enjoy blogging/crafting is the constant inspiration by others in the Paper Crafting Community.

I work at a start up biotech company in Seattle and have 2 wonderful kids.  My son is a high school senior and my daughter is in her 2nd year at the University of Washington (Go Huskies!}.  I'm engaged to a wonderful guy that continues to encourage my crafting, you gotta love that!  He's currently building his first airplane and we hope that it will be completed early next year.

Super thrilled to be the August Guestie at Create a Smile!!
This is the card that Amy created for last month's launch Blog Hop:
