Hello from afar.........

And again it's me on this Monday at the beginning of a new week with some inspiration for you.

I wanted to make an interactive card and use some older stampsets.

I started with a topfolded white cardbase.
At the inside I sponged a skyline with a cloudmask and some distress ink.
I stamped the balloon and the doggie twice and colored them.
Adhered them together with some sturdy twine.
I diecut a circle in the cardbase and in the patterned paper which I cut slightly smaller then the cardbase.
I glue the twine between the cardbse and the patterned paper so you can turn the image.
Stamped the sentiment onto some lila cardstock and cut a banner.
Adhered the enamel stickers to finish of the card.

Stamps;

Just saying hello, Uplifting and Your view.

Patterned papers

Enamel stickers.

Stay tuned for some new stamps in the future and please share your ideas and creations.
Have a great week,

Anja

Thanks

Hi there it's Anja again with another card for you today.

I wanted to make a different card by using some watercoloring with distress ink. For this artsy card the leaves are just perfect.

I started with a square cardbase from white cardstock. Cut a panel from black cardstock slightly smaller then the cardbase.
Did the same with some watercolor paper. I smooched three different colors distress ink at the panel and sprayed some water after it was dry.
I also sprayed some black and white ink onto the background for some extra interest.
At a scrap of watercolor paper I white haet embossed the leaves and watercolored them.
Fuzzy cut them and adhered them to the card.
Stamped the sentiment and placed some enamel stickers.

Stamps;

Time to say thanks.

Enamel stickers.

We love to see what you come up with, so please share your creations and ideas.

Have a great week,

Anja

A Couple of Critters with Coffee

Hi there!
Samantha here and today I'm sharing a fun card, that I can pretty give to any of my friends! Lol!

I love the idea of the cats and dogs getting along, and what better common ground than...coffee grounds! Ha!

To make the card, you just need to set aside some time to color and enjoy yourself!

- stamp and color your images! I used Copic Markers here!
- on a piece of white cardstock for your card front, add some watercolor in the background!
- I used Distress Inks and squished the colors onto an old piece of packaging! I spritzed the packaging with water and then smooshed that onto my card front! Love the transition of colors from purple to that coral-y orange!

- I popped up the critters with foam tape and then splattered the whole thing with blank ink!
- the sentiment was stamped on the bottom to ground the 'scene'!

I colored my cat grey...which would have been fine with me, if I didn't also color the coffee cup in grey-ish tones...oh well!! Next time, I'll be sure to choose a more contrasting color for the cat, or cup!! :)

I used the super cute Your View and Coffee First stamp sets! Love them!

Did you know that you can get WAY more than just stamps and dies at the Create a Smile Stamps store? Oh yeah! There's paper, washi, flair, sequins and more!!!!

Banner Love!

Hi stampers! Anni here! Today I have not one, not two... but three cards for you!

I get excited about strange things - I am honest. For exammple in the new set "Friends & Couples" are the cutest critters! But do you know what I love most about this set? The banner! And especially that you can place the sentiment in it!
So I was thinking about with which other set I could use the banner with! And there were A LOT of ideas coming. Today I want to show you these three.
The first one is the "traditional" one you see above: Two creatures are holding the banner! You can use what ever creatures you like for this.
The second one is to place the banner between two palms.

The last one is to use the banner as decoration.

When I make more than one card at once I try to use the same products and techniques on each card. For these three cards at first I stamped, colored and fuzzy cut all the images I wanted to use. After that I used some masking fluid on them. The masking fluid on the first one was dry when I finished the third one. Perfect!
As soon as the masking fluid was dry I did some ink blending. Maybe you recognized that I used the same mask for the snow hill on the card with the penguin and the one with the island. And also used the same ink colors.
After that I only had some die cutting and adhering to do.
An easy and fast way to make a few cards at once.

I would love to see what you do with this banner. Do you have additional ideas? Please leave your link in the sidebar.

Guest Designing for Trendy Twine Part 2

Hello lovelies :)

it's Christine again.
As I told you in Friday's post I was invited by Trendy Twine to be guesting for them. Here's part two of my little feature :)

One pretty obvious way to use twine is to hang something to it. So I decided to make some kind of garlands in a sky and hang some hearts and a birdhouse to them.

Light blue and red are such a fab combo and the wood-like chipboards add some nice neutrals (I painted one in red to see how it works, but that was just too much red.

  • Cut a panel of patterned paper in a light blue (I used the Feel Good Paper Pack)
  • Add some coulds with our two step "Clouds" stencils (I inked the first layer with white pigment ink and added some embossing paste for the second, patterned layer)
  • add the Cranberry Twine with Matte Medium
  • Adhere some Chipboards hearts
  • stamp, color and fuzzy cut the birdhouse from "your view" and attach it to one of the strings
  • Stamp the sentiment
  • Maybe add some wink of Stella to the clouds (I just couldn't resist ;) )

  • Sometimes having a simple color scheme makes the card look more clean and uncluttered.
  • I think it pulls the card together if one color is the main color and the other one is just used to add some pops. That creates a nice balance.
