Hello Everyone, it's Nina-Marie here today! Hope your 2016 has gotten off to a bright and happy start! I am back to share a fun video tutorial featuring a lot of stamping and watercoloring to create this fun and colorful thank you card.
One can never have enough thank you cards, especially at this time of year when you've received so many thoughtful cards and gifts over the holidays from friends and family. This prompted me to pull out my all-time favorite Create a Smile stamp set, Time to Say Thanks.
In today's video, I'm going to show you how I stamped and watercolored this little scene to create an attractive frame for my sentiment. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.
For those of you wondering, this card did take a bit of time to create. However, once you get in the rhythm of masking, stamping and heat embossing each leaf, you begin to pick up momentum. Besides, card making is about the joy of creating. Enjoying the process. Its not about how fast you can be.
A tip to remember when using a sticky-back mask as you heat emboss: always apply some anti-stick powder to the area before stamping with the Versamark ink. The sticky notes I used as my masks left a slight bit of stick behind that is unnoticeable to us, but has just enough of a hold to grab the embossing powder. Applying anti-stick powder to the area helps eliminate this problem. I've linked to the anti-stick powder tool I used in today's video up above in the product list for your convenience.
So I hope today's card has inspired you to do some freestyle watercoloring of your own! Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to find more inspiration using Create a Smile products, as well as much, much more!
Thanks for stopping by... happy creating!
xoxo, Nina-Marie :)
