Hello everyone, this is Janine Langer and I am so excited to show you one of my projects for the first time on this blog today! :)

When I saw the Es ist serviert! / Served Up! set, I immediately fell in love with it. Those hippos are so cute, it is unbelievable. And of course I knew I had to create a layout and use them on it, or at least one of them.
I love ice cream, who doesn't? And so the subject was found very quick, as well as the color scheme as I wanted to keep it quite simple to give the hippo more space to shine.

- First I stamped the hippo on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Copic friendly ink.
- With the same ink I also stamped the ice cream on the same cardstock.
- Then I colored the hippo using my Copics. It took a while because I always start with lighter colors first and then add some layers of the darker colors to avoid getting too dark in the end.
- Now I colored the ice cream, which was done quickly.
- I fuzzy cut both of the images, leaving no white border so they would look as part of the background on the finished layout.
- Then it was time to design the layout.
- I printed a digital background paper with my journaling and title on some 8.5x11 inch cardstock.
- Then I die cut two of the biggest Stacked Pierced Ovals set to ground the photograph and to add some interest to the layout by cutting one of them up and only use parts of it on either side of the design.
- Now it was time to adhere everything by using either glue or foam tape to give it some dimension.
- To add some more color, I added two orange circle die cuts as well as some orange splatters.
- Finally I decided to stamp some of the music notes, just for fun and to finish the layout by adding some Neat & Neutral Enamel Stickers in grey.

Take a look at your everyday life. What do you love? What do you eat? All those tiny things are going to make some great memories, don't forget to write them down!

Thanks so much for your time and have a wonderful weekend! :)

(Kits are limited, so we have a different release time than for most releases because we want everyone to have a chance to get the kit.)

Today we have three design team samples for you, and they ROCK:

First up is Keeway who is - by the way - new on the team - woohooo! I love love love her projects, she has an amazing style and her cards all POP! Make sure to check her blog out (It just moved and looks so amazing now!). I am super porud to have her on the team because I think this girl is going PLACES!
This is her card for this release:

Look at that scene! The colors, the waterdrops and how this little guy seems to be behind the waves - I am in love!!

Next up is Sam, with a scrapbook layout in her unique mixes-media kind of style full of layers and little details.

Sam pulled up the stickers edges for a little detail, splattered some ink around and added a few enamel droplets. She also added mirror-stamping with the rhino - super adorable!

Last but not least is another new addition to the team. Janine Langer is a German Scrapbooker who will from now on have scrapbook-layouts for you every other Saturday. She has an amazing clean style and incorporates lots of images to her layouts. I have never seen scrapbook-layouts like this, they're also inspiring for my cardmaking - check her out!

She used Papers, stamps, alphas and enamels from the kit and still kept it super clean. Don't you think this is an outstanding design?

Janine always keeps her color schemes simple - I think I can learn a lot from her.

That was release countdown "2" - I am now dicing into today's video hop which keeps me over the moon excited.

What is a video hop?:
Some cardmaking artists created videos using the kit and link to the next video and the end of their own video. This way you can hop from video to video and enjoy tons of crafty inspiration. Of course you can also visit the artists blog for more inspiration (and to subscribe!)

Who's on the Hop?
This line-up is going to blow your mind! We have some of my very favorite cardmakers on this hop and I still can't believe they're all joining us! This is the hop order:

1) Create A Smile Blog/ Christine (you are here)
2) Amy R

If you have not checked out our close-up video on the kit you might want to do so first:

For today's video I made a pop-up slider card and I'm showing you how to creaate them without lots of measuring, diecutting or whatever. It's actually super simple!

Happy Hopping!
