A Little Summer-y Hello

Samantha here, and today I am sharing a card that is sure to make you wish summer was here!

 

     

Do you love it? Ha! It's super summery, and super fun! I was inspired but the stickers in the Dear Lizzy It's All Good collection! 

Let's make this card together!
- add watercolors to white cardstock and set aside to dry (I used some Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Purple, Pink and Yellow)
- once dry, heat emboss in white and fussy cut
- die cut the cone, and then back with some brown watercolored cardstock
- once dry, attach the cone to the brown backing!
- use Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the card front

- use whet embossing paste with the stencil to create the rays
- attach the flower images on top of the cone, and add to the card with foam tape
- heat emboss the scripty sentiment on vellum, and fussy cut out
- heat emboss the rest of the sentiment in white, onto a banner of black cardstock
- attach to the card with foam tape, and then sprinkle on some dew drops!

This card would be so fun, if it was done with various patterned papers, too! You could heat emboss the flowers with patterned papers, as well as use papers behind the cone! 

I just love that Focal Point Stencil, it really helps draw your eye to the card! The flowers are from the Magic Flowers stamp set! The sentiment was created by combing the Clear Lettering Alphas and the Just Saying Hello stamp sets!  I also used the 'cone' from the Cool Cuts Soft Serve die!

Older? Better!

Hello, everyone! It's Cassie here, and I'm back to share another card I made for Create A Smile. The new release just was available starting last Friday, and I'm loving the new products, so of course I had to use them for my card today. Let's jump in!

I wanted to create a highlighted area with the new Focal die so I thought I'd go with a birthday card and a nontraditional birthday treat! I also wanted some soft pastel colors, and this fortune cookie was perfect for that!

 I started the card by ink blending some mint green ink on an A2 size card panel. I also splattered some of the ink over another A2 size card panel, and then die cut the Focal die from it. This way I could see my ink blending through the die cut area. 

Next I did my stamping. I stamped the "older/better" sentiment from the Birthday Sampler stamp set onto the card panel in which I had die cut the Focal die from. I also stamped the fortune cookie from the new A Little Treat stamp set. That was colored in with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I adhered everything together and attached the cookie with some foam tape to make it stand out.

When you have a simple card design like this I think it's really smart to add dimension. That's why I popped up the fortune cookie. It seems like a really small thing, but it adds the perfect touch!

Not feeling goat?!

Hi everyone! Raluca here with a clean and adorable card using the cute goat from the " When you're not around" stamp set.

I really wanted to use this fresh color palette and I thought that it goes well for brighten up someone's day.

* I die cut a white panel using the largest stitched rectangle, I placed my stencil over it and I added some white texture paste on it. After it dried I added color on the hearts using a few Distress Inks.
* Then I die cut a frame using the next 2 stitched rectangles and I mounted it using foam tape.
* I stamped and colored the cute goat and I added a vellum circle behind it. I adhere everything using foam tape.
* Then I stamped the sentiment on a yellow strip and I adhere it to the panel.
* I added a few clear sparkling sequins and I mounted everything on a white card base.

Hello everyone, Raluca here! As many of you already know, I'm the newest member of the design team and I'm so happy and honored to be a part of it. I really hope that you'll find my projects inspiring.
For my first post I felt like it would perfect to use one of the newest stamp sets from the August release: When you're not around.

I really love this adorable stamp set and I wanted to create a perfect tropical scene for the sad, but cute crocodile.

*stamp the crocodile with a black ink and color it using colored pencils (like me) or any other coloring mediums you might have at home.
*diecut some hills.
*for the front panel use the ink blending technique with some Distress Inks (preferably red, orange and yellow) and for the hills use some brown inks.
*add some water splatters all over the ink blended pieces, let it sits for about 30 seconds and then pick it up with a clean paper towel. 
*stamp the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock.
*adhere all the pieces together and the card is done. 





*If you don't have any hill dies you could hand draw some hills and then cut them with a pair of scissors.
*For a smooth blending tap some of the ink excess on a scrap piece of paper.

All about diecutting....

Hi Anja again on this Monday and the new start of a month. Can you believe it's August already?
Have you seen all those great dies at the last release aren't they awesome?
So for today's card I would like to focuse on some of them......

As I mentioned before I really liked all those great new dies for the last release so when I got them this weekend I had to play with them.
I tried to combine different dies in one card.






I started with a cardpanel from watercolor paper and white heat embossed the new color your polka cling stamp.
I watercolored all the polka dots with 5 different shades of distress ink.
I diecut a rectangle with  the second biggest double stitched rectangle die and adhered the outline onto a topfolded card. The inner rectangle I placed onto the cardbase using some foamtape.
Then I diecut a tag with the lovely tags M out of some vellum and clear embossed the clustered leaves cling stamp.
Did the same on some vellum but this time I used white embossingpowder and fuzzy cut the leaves.
I adhered those leaves at the cardpanel and placed the tag over them.
Now I diecutted from some colored cardstock the little leaves and flowers from the pocket tag. I placed these onto the vellum clustered leaves and copic colored them. To give them more dimension I used a white gelpen.
The sentiment is white heat embossed onto some black cardstock.
To finish of the card I adhered some sequins and tied a ribbon at the tag.
