Christmas Monster

Hi there!
Samantha here, and today I am sharing a simple, but bold, Christmas card!

I am in the Christmas card making mood!! Anyone else with me? Ha!
And these critters from Beast Feast are absolutely my FAVORITE Christmas monsters ever!

Let's make this card together!

- stamp and color your images (I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers)
- once dry, fussy cut out
- for the background on the outside, I used Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create the pretty ink blended background!

- then, I used a stencil and some white embossing paste to add the snowflakes! so pretty!
- the sentiment was heat embossing in white onto  strip of black cardstock and then popped up for dimension!

After the embossing paste is added with the stencil, remove the stencil and sprinkle on some sparkling clear embossing paste! Once the paste is dry, heat set the embossing powder and it will add some sparkle and shine to the snowflakes that won't flick off!

The cute little images are from Beast Feast, but the stencil in the background is Wave of Snowflakes! So pretty!

There is ALWAYS a fun challenge going on in the Create a Smile Stamp Facebook group page! It's fun and filled with prizes! I love seeing all of the incredible, unique and amazing inspiration!

Hooray!!!!!!!

Hello here is Anja again with another card for you in this new year.
I hope you all had some great holidays and are eager to create again, so happy new year and may it be a very creative one.

First I wanted to make a christmascard for my stash since I got very stressed at the end of 2017 when I realized how many cards I still had to make. So for this year I am gonna make at least one christmascard a week. But when I finished the background and took out the monsters I thought it would make a great birthday card so here it is.

I started with the background using the star stencil and the stars stamp. Cut a strip of green cardstock for the sentiment and placed it upon a strip of patterned paper. Stamped the images and copic colored them.
Adhered everything to the panel and adhered that to the cardbase.

Stamps;

Beast feast, Season's greetings, Decorated wishes mixed add-on and Monsterparty.

Stencil;

Big star polka.

Cool cuts ( dies);

Double stitched rectangles.

Patterned paper;

Sending Sunshine

Sometimes you have to think out of the box and look at your stamps in a different way so you can use christmasstamps also for a winter theme or like here in combination with other stamps for a birthday card.
You can either make your card very colorful but for this card I choosed only two colors which gave the card a more clean and simple look.

Have a great week,

Hugs Anja

Happy Howl-idays!

Hi there!
Samantha with you today, sharing another fun, and tangled up Christmas card!

Honestly, I could color these guys all day! They're so fun! Ha! This tangled up guy is my favorite!! It's getting close to crunch time, and this is a little bit how I feel rushing around! Ha!

Let's make this card!

- on a piece of cardstock, add watercolor!
- I used the packaging technique and Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet
- set aside to dry
- stamp and color your image (I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers)
- fussy cut

- heat emboss the sentiment and attach image

- finish with sequins!

I chose blues and purples to create my background so it would have a chilly, winter-y feel. But all you need to do is change up the colors in the background, and it would give the card a completely different aura!

I mentioned it before, and I am sticking to it, this Beast Feast stamp set is SO adorable!! I want year-round beasts!!!! I finished off the card with those incredible Pretty Pink Posh sequins (also available in the shop)!

Furry Up! Christmas is close!

Hi Everyone!

Marika here with a new card and video. It's slowly creeping towards Christmas so I thought it would be nice with a Christmas card.

My absolute favorite stamps from Create A Smile is the monster sets, they are super adorable! So I knew I wanted to play with the new Beast Feast set. I also new that I wanted to do some mask blending for a circular motif, and when thinking about what colours to use the copic BGs are cool and perfect for a christmas/winter card. The BGs also work awesome together with Peacock Feathers Oxide Ink, which in turn work great in a galaxy background.  And then the card just came together.

To see how I put the card together and get loads of tips and tricks watch the video below:

When embossing over oxide inks, dry the ink first with your heat tool and then add some versamark as the oxide inks arn't always as wet as you want and the embossing powder might not stick enough.
