today we have another wonderful project by our guest designer Laura Sterckx from Making cards is Fun.
Laura is super busy, so this is only the second but also last post from her as a guest designer - but no worries - you'll soon get to see more fabulous projects by her ;)
This is what she made (and I am in LOVE!)

It
was a dark and rainy day outside when I was making this card and that
really doesn't kick start my creativity. Instead of grabbing my phone
and pinning away on Pinterest, I thought it would be fun to create a
card for a particular person. That somebody is my crafty friend Laurel Beard.
She likes coffee so I immediately knew I had to reach out to coffee
stamps! Creating a card with a person in mind is easy and fast. That
way you know which images or colors you should use for your project.
I
started out with a piece of Neenah Solar White paper and I blended some
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on it to create a subtle background on the
card. Then, I took the Friends & Couples stamp set from Create A
Smile Stamps and I colored two images from the set using several Copic
markers. That chicken is so adorable, don't you think? I took the coffee
mug and the "need coffee" sentiment from the Monster Party stamp set
from CASS.
After
fussy cutting the images, I adhered them onto the blue backdrop using
foam adhesive. The card looked pretty plain and boring so I stamped a
banner from the Friends & Couples set. I colored the banner using
bright Copic markers. After that I still wasn't satisfied with the way
it looked so I adhered three sequins to add another pop of color.
Finally, I adhered a strip of patterned paper from the Sending Sunshine
paper pack on a white notecard and I adhered the stamped piece on there,
too. :)
Add
interest and pops of colors to you card by adding a strip of subtle
patterned paper and bright sequins. These two small things can make your
card look brighter and happier!
