Wishing You Sunshine

Hello there, Michelle here today with another card and video to share. Today I am using the stunning Magic Flowers set along with the sentiment from Bad Day.

 

 

 

When I saw the large flower image from the Magic Flowers set, I thought it looked like a sunflower. I thought pairing this with the 'wishing you sunshine' sentiment would make a perfect card to brighten up someone's day!

 

 

 

 

 

 

The card was simply made by stamping the flower, masking this off and stamping the leaves beside it. The sentiment was stamped to the side and then the image was coloured using Copic Markers. Here is the video showing how I did it:
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stamp all the elements for the card first before you colour anything in. That way, if the sentiment (in my case), doesn't stamp straight, you haven't wasted all that time colouring in! Adding dots of glitter or gel pen enhances the image and adds that finishing touch.

I Love You

Hello there, Michelle here and I am back with another card and video using Create A Smile products. Today I am using the super cute squirrel image from the Friends In The Woods set, to make a cute, love themed card.

When looking through my stamps, I noticed that the little heart from the Underwater Love stamp set would fit into the hands of the little squirrel. I thought this would look really cute, along with a love themed sentiment.

I simply stamped the squirrel, masked him off, along with a hillside and blended some Distress Inks for the background. The squirrel was coloured using Copic Markers and then the little heart was added, followed by the sentiment. To see how the card was made, here is the video:

Look at ways to combine different elements from different stamp sets. Let your imaginations run wild! When masking try and cut your images as close to the lines, or even a little into the lines. This ensures you do not have a white halo around your images.

Welcome Little One

Hello there, Michelle here back with another card and video to share with you. Today I am using the super cute Underwater Love set. Aren't these narwhals just adorable? :)

 

I wanted to make a new baby card using the super cute narwhals in the set. I wanted them to look like they were in the sea but I wanted to keep the card clean and simple. I decided to try controlled ink smooshing.

As you will see from the video below, I started off by stamping, colouring and then fussy cutting out the narwhals. I then made the sea for them by pouncing Distress Inks on to some white cardstock. The narwhals were added to the card, as well as the sentiment.

Using a slick surface (I used a stamp storage pocket) to pounce the ink on to the cardstock gives you more control to where the ink lands. This is especially great if, like me, you prefer the clean and simple look.

Hello Chevron

Hello there, Michelle here to share another card and video with you. Today I am using the Floating Chevrons stamp.

 

I wanted to use the Floating Chevrons stamp as a background but not as a full background. I wanted to use it as part of a focal point, with a sentiment.

 

I used the emboss-resist technique for the background piece. The sentiment, a Hero Arts die, was cut three times, layered up and added to the card. To finish off the card, I have used some of the new, soon to be released, enamel stickers by Create A Smile. Here is the video showing how I made it ...

 

Apply your dry adhesive (in this case, I have used Stick It sheet) to your cardstock first, then die cut, when using intricate dies. This makes them easier to handle and you do not have to risk adding excess liquid glue to them. Stacking these up also gives some dimension to the card.

I'm Here For You

Hello there Michelle here. I am to share another card and video with you. I used the Botanical Love set last month and I couldn't resist using it again this month. I just love that large flower image!

 

 

I wanted to use the Botanical Love set in a different way than I did last month. Although the colours are similar, the overall look is quite different. Here is my previous card using the set.

 

I first stamped and embossed the flower image on to vellum. This was coloured with Copics Markers from the reverse and cut out. The sentiment was added on top and a few sequins added to finish off. You can see the whole process in the video below:

 

 

 

Colour with Copic Markers on the reverse of the embossed image when using vellum. This not only prevents the colour from hitting the embossed lines, it also means you can colour quickly and easily.

Hello there, Michelle here. I am here to share another card and video with you. Today I am using the beautiful Botanical Love set, along with Friends In The Woods for the sentiment.

 

 

As soon as I saw the large flower in the Botanical Love set I knew I wanted to watercolour with it. It is just so pretty so I wanted it to take centre stage.

You will see in the video that I heat embossed the flower image and coloured with Distress Markers using water and a paintbrush. I love the colour range that the Distress Markers have. I added the sentiment, from the Friends In the Wood set, along with some sequins and a rhinestone.

To get a softer watercolour look, apply the Distress Marker from a slick surface (I used an acrylic block) using a paintbrush and not directly on to the paper.

Using Patterned Paper in a CAS Way

Hello there, Michelle here. I am back to share another video tutorial with you. My card today uses the Bad Day stamp set along with the new Feel Good Paper Pad.

Using lots layers of patterned paper on cards is not usually thought of in the clean and simple style of card making. I wanted to share how it can be done.

 

The card was very easy to make. I simply stamped the image and coloured with Copic Markers and then used the patterned paper to make layers for the sentiment and also the focal panel. Here is the video showing how I did it:

 

Stamping the sentiment on patterned paper is a great way to incorporate it in to clean and simple cards. Usually patterned paper pads will have one side with a bolder pattern and the other side with a more subtle one. I like to use the subtle side for stamping on.
