Christmas Ornaments (VIDEO)

My todays video is about these little christmas ornamets... filled with stamps from create a smile :-) 

These ornaments are not onlx good for the christmas tree, but also great as gift tags. Also you an add the name of the recipient on one side.

Furry christmas

Today I have this cute and cozy christmas card for you.

 

 

 

Creating your own background is something I really like a lot. This time I wanted to create a cozy plaid background.  

 

• take the wide stripes stencils and apply diagonal stripes in a light color to your panel
• then turn the stencil and apply slightly darker stripes in the other direction
• draw some mini zickzack lines with a black fineliner and some gold lines with a golden fineliner
  

 

 

  

You can use this tutorial also for turning your stamped letters in plaid letters.

Today's card is a mix of a few stamp sets.

I looked at the cute guniea pig from the set Flauschige Weihnachten and suddenly it hit me: It could carry anything else beside the gifts. So I decided to put a pencil on its back.

• You can get a lot more of your stash if you combine stamp sets in different ways: Flauschige Weihnachten is a Christmas set but you can easily turn it into something else.
• I started by colouring the images. Then I went through all my scraps and pulled out all the colours that went with my colouring.
• I coloured the images with Copics. But I also added details and shadows with coloured pencils. You get much more dimension this way.

Every other wednesday starts a new challenge with an awesome prize to win.

      

   

Happy Birthday

Woohoo, no Christmas card today, what a surprise! For a change I have a birthday card for you.

When I saw this video by genius Jennifer McGuire I knew I had to try this technique called Distress Ink Monoprint. I did a lot of samples not each turned out pretty but I liked this one.

• I created the background following Jennifer McGuire's video. When the background was dry, I die cut a circle from it. I layered it with a die cut circle with a post edge.
• Then I stamped the super cute guinea pig from the set Furry & Bright / Flauschige Weihnachten. You can use the guinea pig all year round although it is a Christmas set.
• I coloured the image with Copic markers and added in some fur details with coloured pencils.
• When I put the circle on my card, it looked a little bit boring. I decided to add some splatters using the same Distress Oxide inks I used before for the background (absolutely inspired by Kerstin).
• The last thing I had to do was to stamp a sentiment and that finsihed up my card.

Ho-Ho-Ho

Hello everyone! Chris  here with a little fun christmas card.  The naughty cute cat just "stole" the dog´s bag. 

When I hold a set in my hands, I love to use the accessories in different ways, as in this case the dogs bag with the cat.

• first I stamped the images on water color paper and colored  (Distress Inks)
• cut out all images and also cut out the bag with the dogs paws
• arranged at the cat in different ways 
• Background: blended with Distress oxides (tumbled glass, faded jeans)  - after it dryed I used the snowflake stencil with some mousse (in my case metallic gliding polish) 
• stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder
• then arranged all images on the card and  glued down with 3d Foam tape.

Just have a look at your Stampsets in your stash  - maybe you have some sets  which match together very well.

      


The cute stampset "Furry & Bright" / "Flauschige Weihnachten" is from the new Octobre release and available from friday 12th.
