Hello!

Vanessa here with my third card! This time it's all about watercolors:

No rain - no rainbow. So I wanted to create a happy rainbow card to brighten someones day!

1. Make card from cardstock

2. Trim a panel of watercolor paper slightly smaller than the cardbase

3. Stamp the cloud image and heat-emboss with black embossing powder

4. Draw lines with Tombow markers and create watercolor effect with a brush and water (see photos below)

5. Color raindrops with markers

6. Stamp sentiment

7. Adhere panel to card and finish card off with sequins

Working with water will always warp the paper, even when using watercolor paper. I like to press my dried paper between books before adhering it to the cardbase.

Hey everyone!

Here I am with my second card for this month! I hope you like it!

I love happy colors on Kraft. Paper-piecing the cute umbrella with cute patterned paper perfectly fit!

1. Make card from cardstock

2. Trim a panel of Kraft cardstock slightly smaller than the cardbase

3. Stamp the sentiment and the umbrellas onto the panel with black ink

4. Stamp umbrellas onto various patterned papers and cut them out

5. Adhere the umbrellas to the card, trim excess from edges

6. Adhere panel to cardbase

When cutting out images, always turn the paper, not the scissors to achieve clean edges. I wanted my card to be flat, but for more interest, adhere some umbrellas with foam tape.

What a great card - Vanessa is right, the umbrellas look so cute with those patterns. Do you like paper piecing? Or do you find it too time-consuming?

Hi everybody!

I am honored to be Christine's Guest Designer this month! I am almost 37 years old, married and Mom to a sweet girl. We are living in the south of Germany with our crazy cat. I've been stamping and cardmaking for about 6 years now and loved every second of it! I hope to inspire you with my projects this month!

Here comes my first card:

That bird image is hilarious! I immediately thought of it having a bad-hair-day. So I made it look like it had a visit at a "hair"dresser gone terribly wrong.



1. Make card from cardstock

2. Trim a panel of watercolor paper slightly smaller than the cardbase

3. Ink the panel using a mini ink blending tool and adhere panel to card

4. Stamp bird image onto white cardstock and color with Copics

5. Fussy-cut bird and adhere to card with foam tape

6. Color the wood veneer speech bubble with a black marker and adhere to card

I like to use watercolor paper when I do ink blending. The colors blend more smoothly. Start applying ink to one edge of the panel doing circular motions and work towards the other edge, applying less and less ink. 

To color my bird, I used quick, short motions and kind of flicked the markers when applying the color.

Haha, this card is so much fun, isn't it? I never ever colored any image hat colorful - I might have to try!
