You Mean the World to Me Card

Hi there!
Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a bright, happy card for someone you love and appreciate!

     

When I saw the sentiment 'you mean the world to me, I just had to make a heartshaped world to go with it!

Let's make this card together!
- I used a heart die cut that was on my desk, and free hand sketched some 'countries' to resemble the world! I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! It was so fun! And the best part is, it didn't have to be perfect! You eye automatically recognizes it as the 'world'! 
- set aside to dry
- heat emboss the big 'you' in black, onto vellum and then fussy cut out
- heat emboss the remaining part of the sentiment in white onto a black strip of cardstock

- on the card front, use white embossing paste and the stencil to create the background
- clean the stencil and dry it
- once the stencil and the paste are dry, put the stencil back on the card front, directly over where you had just added the paste
- add color with gelatos and Distress Crayons! yay for rainbows! yay for the pop of color!
- adhere your card together and pop up the banner part of the sentiment with foam tape

I could have left the embossing paste white and the card would have had a more classic, modern look. And you know I do LOVE some white embossing paste on white cardstock - the texture is awesome! But this time, I just had to add a rainbow! Lol!

I used the amazingly versatile All About You stamp set and paired it with the super fun Focal Point Stencil!

True friends

Hey stampers, Raluca here! Welcome back to our crafty space!

Today's card is featuring the "Friends like you" stamp set. 

I really love this set because there are some amazing sentiments in it and they are perfect for all the friends in our lives. And what a better design for the "friends make the world magical" than a galaxy background? 

On a white panel die cut with the largest stitched rectangle I ink blended 4 Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Black Soot. By combining the blue, pink and yellow I got 3 more colors: orange, purple and green. 

After the ink blending was done I added some white splatters for the galaxy finish. When the panel had dried I stamped the big friends in VersaMark and heat embossed using white embossing powder and I did the same thing for the other 2 parts of the sentiment only I stamped them on 2 strips of colored cardstock. 

I adhered everything to the panel and I mounted the panel on a white card base using craft foam.

For more interest I added a few clear sparkle sequins and clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

Birthday Wishes

Hello!

Todays card was supposed to be a full standard A2 size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") But on the journey of creating it morphed into a much smaller card, that what's happens sometimes, but that only means I have a piece of background to use on some other projects.

Sometimes inspirations come from new goodies that come in the mail, this week the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons finally came and as I've been watching a whole bunch of videos on how to use them I knew I needed to give them a try on this project. Those crayons was also the inspiration of my colour scheme.



The techniques behind getting this result is quite easy and here is a video on how I did step by step.





Tim Holtz Distress Crayons have smudge time, so when you use them work quick or in small parts. To make them move later add some water but then they loose a little of their intensity. And because water together with pressure will make the crayon move again I would seal the top with some multi media matt or some Collage Medium if I would send this card through the mail.
