Tweet, Tweet....!!

 Hey CAS friends!!

It's Ashlee here today and I couldn't help but create another card using the Tweetheart birdies, they are just too adorable....

Tweet, tweet....

I just wanted to create more and more with the Tweetheart birds to tell the truth....hehe.
This set is so fun to create little birdie scenes and perfect to use for many occasion cards!!

- Start with a base of white cardstock (This one is slimline in shape)
- Use Distress oxide inks to create a blended background (I used Mustard seed, Spun sugar and Kitsch flamingo)
- Mix a bit of black paint with water and splatter over the background
- Die cut the bigger hearts from black cardstock and add to the card base using foam tape
- Stamp, colour and fussy cut all the images and arrange/adhere onto the card
- Finish off with a touch of sequins.

Try different types of white cardstock for blending inks and see what gives you the best results. I have found that the type of card you use really impacts the results of the blending. Watercolour card is one that works really well too!!

Blend, blend, blend baby.... the more you blend those inks the smoother it will be!!

Don't forget to come on over to the Create a Smile group on Facebook and share with us your creations, we would all love to see them - Create a smile friends and family

Hugs Ashlee.

Hello Butterfly!

Hello crafty friends, it's Kerstin here!

New stamps (and many more) are just around the corner. Yay! On todays card I used the upcoming butterflies stampset.

It`s spring time so let's create a spring card!

  • stamp, color and fussy cut your images
  • add some details with a white acrylic marker to your images
  • add some ink blending to the bottom of your panel
  • adhere the images to your card

To add a little more interest you can create flight paths for the butterflies by stitching it into the paper with a sewing needle.

Butterflies (coming April 29th)

We love to see your creations. Please use the hashtag #createasmilestamps when you're sharing your projects on instagram.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,
Kerstin

Plant-astic Card

Hi there!
Samantha here, and today I am sharing a card full of color and full of plant love!

I definitely wanted to add a rainbow flair by coloring each pot a different color of the rainbow!

Let's make this card together!

- first, I stamped colored all the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then once they were all dry, I fussy cut them out!
- I used Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron to ink blend the background
- then I used placed the Diagonal Grid stencil on top, and used the same colors to add a subtle tone-on-tone look!

- I also splattered some white acrylic ink on top
- I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black and then fussy cut out around it.

-finally, I finished off the card by popped up some of the images with foam tape, for dimension!

I had to use rainbow colors for the pots of the hanging plants, but you could also do a black and white striped pot for the plants, with a more colorful background!

For the background, I used the Diagonal Grid Stencil! and the images are from the new Plantastic Stamp Set!

There is ALWAYS a fun challenge going on in the Create a Smile Stamp Facebook group page! It's fun and filled with prizes! I love seeing all of the incredible, unique and amazing inspiration!
