It's Kelly here and today I'm sharing a fun way to use the ice cream cone die cut in our Sending Sunshine Card kit.

 



I had this idea in my head and it literally would not let me make anything else. I couldn't get passed it! I think it was so persistent because it knew it was going to be so dang cute :)

I started by die cutting all of the ice cream cones out of a white cardstock panel. Once that was done I covered the back of the panel with tape and fit the outlines back in. The inside pieces were colored with distress inks and a blender applicator. I added some sprinkles with some gel pens to bring in more pink. The "chocolate" cones have white sprinkles which you can't see at all in the photo. bummer. :/  I created my own sentiment by combining different stamps sets which I stamped on a circle die. I added a bit of vellum behind it and more pink gel pen as an accent.

 

When die cutting intricate dies I leave the pieces on my cutting board and stick them together with washi tape like this

 

If your pieces stick inside your die you can place the tape over the back and poke them onto it through the die holes. Make sense?

Monster Party!!!!!!!

Hi there it's Anja again with another card for you today.

 

 

I don't know about you but I really love all those monster images so I thought about combining them all together in one card. So let's have a monster party!!!!!!!!



I made a top folded white card and stamped the different monsters at random masking several of them.
I decided to color only three of them to highlight them. After the coloring I used some vellum and a thread behind the white embossed sentiment on a black fishtail. The flag was stamped and fuzzy cut and adhered to the card with some foam tape. To finish of the card I used some of those lovely enamel elements. I decided the monsters needed something extra so I gave them some wreckles with a white pen.
And that's was all for the monster party!!!!!

If you want to highlight some images think of coloring them and keep the figures in the background light. If you make a one layered card you can create some dimension that way.

One Layer Card - Washi Wonder

Hi all! The products shown in this post are mostly found in the Sending Sunshine Kit but for those who are waiting for it to be restocked, you can recreate this with products of your own or other similar type products in the Create A Smile Store :)

I have to be honest with you. I really wanted to play with Washi Tapes and I, personally, have not used many washi tapes on my cards and I pretty much had to think of the (my personal) box. I tried a few cards before picking which one to share. I'm still on the fence about this card but I still want to show you and I'm sure you can recreate this better than I did :D This made me want to do more projects including Washi Tape so I could be comfortable with these lovely products.

I wanted to go beyond my comfort zone and used Washi Tape in different ways than I, personally, knew how. 

I've to use kraft paper for this and took the cute jellyfish from the kit stamp set and stamped 3 of it together. I used my post-it as masking paper for this. 

I took all the Create A Smile Washi Tapes including the one from the kit to create colourful seaweeds. I didn't really care of the patterns on the washi tape doesn't scream 'sea life', I just wanted variation of texture and colours :) You can do this with any washi tape you have. 

This is how it looks after piling more and cutting off the excess. 

I could have coloured the jellyfish with copics but somehow I went with Distress Inks. This is just Neenah kraft paper but I went ahead with basic watercolouring using as little water as possible. 

I finished the card with a sentiment and the enamel dots from the kit (it is also sold separately in the store).  I know this isn't as flat as a one layer card should be but no additional cardstock is involved and everything is stuck directly to the cardbase, so in my books, it's a one layer hehe :) I hope you don't mind!

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy

Hi, Anni here! I have some yummy ice cream for you today!

I know it is hard for all the stampers out there who weren't lucky to get a kit in the first round. All week long you get to see all the posts showing off all the fabulous things in the kit. But heads up the kit will be available again in a few weeks. Be sure to subscribe the newsletter.
I just couldn't resist to use the ice cream die from the kit. As soon as I saw it I wanted to use some Enamel Accents on it! And I think it looks delicious!

• If you don't have enamel accents you could color the ice cream parts of the die cut and cover it with glossy accents. I can't wait to use some glitter glue on it. I think that would look fantastic, too.
• The easiest way to color the cone with all its tiny elements is to put it on a sticky surface, for example a post it note.

Wishing I Could Sea You!

Hello there!
Samantha here, and today I have a super cute card to share using elements from the SUPER popular (and sold out! eek!) Sending Sunshine Kit! But don't worry!! There is already a re-order in the works!!

I am in love with that lobster! Honestly, people, I can't stop playing with him! He's so cute! I am going to use him on layouts and more cards! Look out! ha!

This card was FUUUUUN to make! Let's read how:

- on a white cardbase, add small pools of acrylic paint in your desired colors
- use an old credit card (or gift card!) and smear all of the paint down the card! SO FUN!!
- once dry, use translucent embossing paste and that adorable bubble stencil to add some texture to this undersea adventure card!

- punch some circles (or die cut!) and heat emboss the sentiment and attach by machine stitching it on (my favorite way to attach vellum!
- a few yellow enamel dots completed the card!

Did I mention I used the SUPER adorable and awesome Sending Sunshine Kit? Oh, I did.
You could also create this similar underwater scene with the CUTE Underwater Love stamp set!

Wait, you don't like to stitch on your cards? No worries! You can attach those cute little vellum circles with tiny staples, or add glue behind some of the overlapping enamel dots!

I'd love to SEA you again!

Hello crafty friends, Yoonsun here! I am back with super awesome May Sending Sunshine Kit! Plus, old & new sea creatures meet together!

 

I don't know exactly what is going on down there but it would be so busy everyday! So I wanted to describe some fun and busy underwater scene and, -I am pretty sure- the Underwaterlove stamp set is the perfect thing to pair with the mini stamp from the Sending Sunshine Kit.

 

• For the background: Blend on the watercolour panel with Distress inks Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky using blending tool. Add some water droplets.
• Sea creatures: Stamp them on the watercolour paper using black pigment ink, colour them with Distress markers and then fussy cut them.
  -Narwhals: Pumice Stone
  -Jellyfish: Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw
  -Octopus: Stormy Sky
  -Crawfish: Barn Door, Festive Berries, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany
• Mount all elements on the inked panel using dimensional foam tape.
• Embellish some clear sequins.
