Hi everyone! Did you catch the new release posts? You can check out the sample card I made here. Today, I will feature a new background stamp called Floating Chevrons.
Background stamps great to make a customised patterned paper without much steps. But for this card, I wanted to show you that you can use the background stamp in other ways than just covering the entire piece of paper. A way to stretch the use of the background stamp
Step 1 : I used my washi tape to cover the areas I want to leave clean and white.
Step 2 : I stamped the background stamp on the paper with the washi tape on. And heat embossed with my clear embossing powder.
Step 3 : I chose two Distress Ink colours (Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade) and just to add some colours. Once this is done, I will carefully remove my washi tape and it will reveal the white stripes.
Step 4 : I added my sentiments and my DIY enamel dots. That's about it! :D
You can try this technique by covering the white space with different shapes. Use your dies on some masking paper and use that shape to cover the white space and you'll get a unique white space surrounded with colours and stamp designs.

ReplyDeleteWow, this is great! At first I thought you'd cut out the stripes but then I saw you had masked them off. Brilliant idea and such a beautiful effect.
