You Did It!

Hi there!
Samantha here, and today I am sharing a happy congratulations card!

As soon as I saw that new stencil I just knew I wanted to combine with that stamp set! Perfect for congratulating your kid in school, or a teacher in your life!

Let's make this card together!

- first, I stamped colored all the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then once they were all dry, I fussy cut them out!
- I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina to add a little bit of ink blending
- then I placed the stencil on top and used the same colors, but with more pressure to add the letters though.

- then I used the stencil again, moved it to a different place on the stencil, and used white embossing paste to add some texture!
- next, I heat embossed part of the sentiment in white onto a strip of black cardstock

-finally, I finished off the card by heat embossing in black onto vellum, the large scripty 'woohoo'!

I added foam tape to the mouse and black strip of cardstock for some dimension. But if you're worried about that for mailing, you don't need to add foam tape!

For the background, I used the new ABC Stencil! The adorable images are from the First Day of School stamp set! and the sentiment uses the Woohoo stamp set!

There is ALWAYS a fun challenge going on in the Create a Smile Stamp Facebook group page! It's fun and filled with prizes! I love seeing all of the incredible, unique and amazing inspiration!

Let's get cozy!

Hello crafty friends, it's Kerstin here!

Summer is almost over and it's time to get cozy. For me that means grabbing a book and snuggle up on the sofa. Just like the turtle on todays card.

Sometimes my coloring looks a bit boring. Adding some kind of texture can help to solve the problem.

  • after laying down the first layers of color add tiny dots in the same colors as before
  • always start with the lightest color
  • on the turtle shell I added organic shapes instead of dots

Using Leftovers and Pre-Coloured Pieces!

Good Morning and welcome back! It's Laurie with you today to share a card I made using bits and bobs I had lying around on my desk. Do you ever have scrap die cuts or images that you've coloured for other projects just lying around? These are the things I decided to use for my card today!

The idea behind this project was simple. Use what I had lying around and clean up my workspace a little!

I started by doing some simple ink blending onto a small panel of white cardstock that measures approximately 3X5 inches. A little green on the bottom, blue on top. The circle with the "hello" die cut from it came from a previous project where I used to positive hello. I actually thought ahead and saved those bits. Full disclosure: I did have to die cut the hello once more for the inner bits of the "e", "l" and "o".

The flowers I had coloured for another project but ended up not using them. I made sure to tuck those away in the stamp set packaging.

I added the sentiment circle along with the florals with foam adhesive onto the ink blended panel. I made the card base by adding 1/2" to the size of the focal panel. So the card is really not any standard size. It's about 3.5 X 5.5.

If you find your "left overs" stash is growing, have a look through and see what you can use to create something! Honestly, I often do this when my crafty mojo is on vacation. It takes a bit of the pressure off!

We all have that bits stash, right? Don't forget to use it or it may get out of control! Often it's a great source of inspiration!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
