Hello Crafters! 

It's been too long! 

I'm so excited to be back sharing my love of Create A Smile with you guys. In traditional Kelly fashion I've kept it clean and simple today. 

Pretty simple really, It's summer and I wanted a beach card :) 

To create this card i just did a simple blended background and added texture with a sparkle pen. The image was Copic colored. You can watch the whole thing start to finish in the video below 

I hope you enjoyed the video. It's super easy to get a textured card with minimal supplies.  Clearly, I need to go back to school because Biology is the study of all organisms. I was right and didn't even know it. I hope you laughed as hard as I did. Haha!

Part of what helps the texture in the background is the fact that Distress Ink reacts with water/moisture. Also, help your image pop off the page by adding a simple shadow.

You're So Sweet

Hi everyone! It's Keeway here and I have a very sweet card to share with you today!

I knew that I wanted to color this adorable hippo ice cream vendor and wanted to showcase him on a simple card.

1.  Stamp the images in copic friendly ink, and color him in. I used Versafine Black Onyx Ink and colored him in with copic markers. I also added a few accents with a white gel pen.

2.  I fussy cut the image out, including the area in the middle of the cart with a craft knife.

3.  I grabbed a matching pattern paper from my stash, and looked for one with a simple pattern. Since we don't want to pull attention away from our main image, you want to look for a basic pattern.

4.  To really help the image pop, I die cut a piece of white cardstock, and I blended a touch of spun sugar distress ink. I used a post it tape to even off ground level before blending.

5. I adhered the white cardstock directly to my background, and then used foam tape to glue down my images.

Adding diagonal (or uneven) lines to your card can create a visual interest on your card without distracting attention away from your focal point.

Hello everyone it's Anja again with another card to inspire you. At least I hope it will.

 

I wanted to use the bright colors from our last beach party kit and make a shaker card with the included sequins.
So going through my stamps the idea got to me to use that cute little bird for the balloon shaker.






I first searched for some matching cardstock to use for my cardbase.
I made a topfolded cardbase out of orange cardstock.
Cut a stripe out of the patterned paper and adhered it to the cardbase.
I diecut a rectangle piece of white copic friendly cardstock and diecut the balloon shape.
Stamped the little bird and colored it in the same colors as the sequins.
With a black marker I drawn an outline for the balloon and a string from the ballon to the bird to hold the balloon.
Made the shaker and use some sequins from the kit.
Stamped the sentiment and used some enamel stickers to finish of the card.

If you use matching colors for your images with the papers you use your project will be more complete.

If you have trouble using the patterned papers just use a little piece to give an extra accent to your card.
