Time for Two Anniversary Card

Hi crafters,
it's Justine again from justinehovey.com with another video tutorial. I made this card because I needed a card for my anniversary. I also wanted to take you inside my creative process - mistakes and all, how I do card surgery and more :)

Instead of explaining, let me show you how I made this card in my YouTube tutorial.

I rarely throw out something I am making. I used to ALL THE TIME! Now, I take time, try and work out a way to get around my mistakes. Honestly, sometimes the card turns out completely different than I imagined. If you watched the video you will see how it comes to life.

Bright Birthday

Hello Crafters!

It's Kelly here and I'm sharing a fun bright birthday card using lots of tiny images!

I love using tiny images to add details to cards and Create A Smile has a ton of fun ones. I couldn't resist using some to decorate these cute little packages.

I started by stamping the packages in Memento Tuxedo Black ink because it's copic friendly. Next I used post its to mask off each  package as I worked on it. It was so nice not to have to cut masks! Sine these are simple shapes a straight edge is all you need to mask :)  I stamped several different images on various packages or used the straight line included in the set to create stripes. I colored the images with copic markers and then outlined them using a copic multiliner. A little bit of shading around the boxes helps give it some dimension. I stamped the sentiment directly over my image and then used a white gel pen to trace around the edge helping it pop. I also added some details with it. It's a pretty simple one layer card but the bright colors really help it make a big impression :)

Just because an image isn't large doesn't mean it isn't useful. Look at what's in your stash and see if you can find a way to enhance it. Pairing tiny images with a large open stamp is an easy way to give it a completely different look!

Mini-card.....

Hello everybody hope you are doing well.
For today I have a little card for you.......

I needed a little quick card to go with a present. So the sentiment from Aus dem Hut gezaubert was perfect. It is much fun to make such a little card and a great way to use some left overs.

I used a white cardbase from 10x 8,5 cm ( 3,94x 3,35 inch) and cut a smaller piece of watercolor paper. I stamped the letters stamp onto the watercolor paper and white heat embossed it. Used some watersmooshing with distress inks to make the background. The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock and also white heat embossed. Cut the sentiment in a banner and placed it under the beak of the bird. Colored the bird with copics and gave it glasses with the magical frame die. To give it some more interest I put on some glossy accents. I took two strips of washi-tape and adhered it to the cardbase and placed the watercolor paper.

Stamps;

Aus dem Hut gezaubert, Uplifting and Letters.

Cool cuts;

Magical frame;

Washi-tape;

Coral arrows and dark aqua chevron

Sometimes you need a quick card so a little card is easier to make. Those little cards are perfect to go with a gift or some flowers and are fun to create. You can also use your left overs on these little cards.
Sometimes you have to bend the sentiment to fit in a banner and you can easily bend those clear sentiments and place them on your stampblock. After stamping they go back in their original form.
To give your card some extra interest you can place some washi-tape and just let them peek out.

We love to see what you create so please link up at the sidebar.

Cut That Background Stamp Apart!

Ok... Kidding! I didn't actually cut the background stamp apart ;) Hope I didn't scare you. But read on and see what I did :) I hope it will inspire you to look at your background stamps and find more ways to use it. I was inspired by my teammate, Anja Curvers's card here

You know how I like to "stretch" my stamps right? I decided to find a different way to use the Letters background stamp.

So firstly, I stamped the entire background using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (because I will be using Copic Markers) on just some left over white pieces of paper I have.

Next, I coloured all the non-solid envelopes using my copic markers. I wasn't being too careful to blend or have a gradient of dark to light colour because it's such a small area.  After I'm done colouring, I did it crazy (but worth it) thing! Hehe. I cut all the envelopes out so that I could stick them one my card.

Before I stick the envelopes, I did stamp 1/3 of the stamp on the bottom part of my card base. I did this so that I could have a starting point of where I will stick the cut out envelopes. Some are flat and some are on dimensional adhesive.

I had to use this adorable bear from the Poppin' Over set and it looks like it's coming out of the pile of envelopes :) Added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and that's it!

I don't know about you but I love to keep gold embellishments in hand like sequins, stickles, embossing powders, stickers, etc. I find that they go well with any colour and they are amazing at brightening up your card :)

Wrap it up!

Hey Anni here!
Today Ihave a gift box for you.

I have four teenager nephews - yes four. And I have no idea what to get a teenager for christmas or for birthday. So nearly every year I give away gift cards. And to make it just a little bit more personal I create gift boxes for my nephews!

  • Stamp and heat emboss the presents with white embossing powder.
  • Stamp the presents another time on white paper. Add the little reindeers ad santas.
  • Color with Copics.
  • Fuzzy cut both gift images.
  • Wrap twine around the colored present and add the little tag.
  • Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment and cut into a banner.
  • Assemble the box.

  • The gift pile is a big stamp. You don't have to use the whole stamp every time. Just cut away the presents you don't need.
  • Put the focal point on one present: Make it special: Put twine around it, add all the cute little images in the set, add some glitter, paper pierce it... There are so many oppurtunities!
  • There is no need to mask the giftif you add the small images! Just stamp over the edge and then cut it out!
  • Don't be shy to use your handwriting to your projects. It makes it so much more individual.
  • I think the easiest way to create a gift box is to use a die. It will be worth the purchase.

Don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter. There are great things ahead you wouldn't want to miss.

So let me know: What do you give to the teenagers in your life?
