Happy Mail for You!

Hi there!
Samantha here with you today, sharing a fun card that can be sent for any reason!

See what I mean? It would work as a birthday card, but also as a card to send to someone for no reason at all! It's perfect!
I have been trying to build up my stash of birthday cards lately, but I also want to make sure I have cards to send to people for all occasions - enter this card! Ha!

To create this card, you'll need watercolor paper and a medium to color!
- stamp and watercolor the snails
- once dry, spritz small water droplets on top of the images to add the worn or distressed watercolor look!
- fussy cut and set aside to dry

- on the card front, create a watercolor using the packaging technique
    *smoosh Distress Ink pads onto a scrap piece of packaging from stamps or embellishments and mist with       water
    *press down onto card front to create the watercolor look
    *lift up packaging and set paper aside to dry
- I used Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw for my background
- once it was dry, I added some white polka dots with acrylic paint and a roller stamp!
- stamp the sentimnet and pop up the snails images

I used the mini stamp set Happy Mail and also the cute as can be Lovely Critters stamp set!

To avoid the hassle of fussy cutting, this card could easily be a one layer! All that would change, would be to stamp the snail images onto the card front. Then use a masking solution or paper to cover the images. Add the mixed media background and when dry, remove the mask and color your snails! Perfect for mailing, too!

There's a big KIT RELEASE coming up! Be sure to stick around the Blog and Facebook group to catch sneaks, updates and ways to win!

Thanks again for spending part of your day with me!

Video: Botanical Love with a lot of shadow-coloring

Hi everybody,

its wednesday again, and time for a new video.

I made a card with my really alltime-favorite-flower-stamp :-)

I've seen a looots of cards on instagram, with a very very soft coloring. So, this is what I tried. But the result is very different to what I wanted to be, but I'm happy how my coloring went out....

Here you can watch my video in english.. as every time: yes, its kind of adventuring hear me speaking english... but give it a try ;-)

And here is my video in german....ähm, ja, hier ist mein Video auf deutsch.... sehr viel mehr Worte als im englishen Video, aber genauso lang. Ha!

Sometimes you just need to let it flow. At the beginning of my Video I planned only soft colors. But after the first layers I needed more contrast and so I came into creating shadows.... so the result was surprising me, even although I had the copics in my hand ;-) So, free your mind and look where the colors will lead you ;-) hihi

There is a new Kit coming. In only one and a half week is the release!!! And on all channels (Instagram, Facebook, Facebook-Family&Friends-Group, this Blog) you can see first sneaks and the release-count-down... You really will not miss it :-)

Get well soon.....

Hi there it's Anja again with another card for you today.

For a sick friend who could use some boost to get well I wanted to make a funny card. That hippo is so, so lovely so why not turn it into a get well card?

I started with a the negative diecut from the oval dies and randomly stamped the little images from the set. I colored them with some copics and sponged along the sides with some ink. colored the hippo and the fruit and fuzzy cut it and adhered it to the card with some foam tape.
To finish of the card I used two washi-tapes and some ribbon. stamped the sentiment from and placed some enamel stickers. The last step was rounding the corners of the card.

Stamps;

Es is serviert/served up and Doctor's Helpers.

Cool cuts (dies);

Stacked pierced ovals;

Washi-tape;

Enamel stickers;

Sending Sunshine

Make sure you visit regulary especially because we have another great kit coming this month, stay tuned.

Have a great week,

Anja

Creative Stamping, Perhaps?

Hi Everyone! A month break from crafting has made me a bit rusty. I've finally migrated to Germany! :) Still getting used to the idea but getting there. Anyways, I'm just really happy to be crafting again and sharing my projects with you. Today, I would like to share a way to "edit" your stamp.

A good tip I learn while doing this sort of stamping method is that try it on a regular typing paper first if you're doing it for the first time. It helps and avoid wasting your precious cardstock :) And always make sure your fingers stays clean from the black it. I'm always having this issue -.- Somehow black ink finds it's way to my fingers no matter how careful I try to be.

The image that you want to have it on the front, has to be the one that you stamp first. And I wanted a second stamp behind it but the image was a bit larger so I had to extend the height of the shelter. To do this, I masked off the top part (the shelter) and a bit of the two bars and stamp the rest of the image as usual. Remember to take off the tape before stamping!

This is how it should look like when you masked off the top part.

Next, I masked off the bottom area and the hippo and only inked up what I had masked off earlier and  carefully stamp it so that the bar would look kind of straight. Lol, it's a bit slanted :D As you can see below, it's a bit taller than the original.

More masking! I used pieces of post it to masked of the area where I will stamp the next hippo so that it won't overlap.

Once, all the stamping is over, I took my Copics and colour :) Added the sentiments and ta-da! Hope you like it and let me know if you have any questions / comments!

Need coffee?

Hello!

Today I have a little coffee card (or more chocolate as that was what I had at home). This is the kind of cards I made a lot back in the day when I started making cards (and boxes). Feels good to get back to my roots now and again.

The colour scheme that I used was taken from the colour challenge over at the Create A Smiles facebook group, when I saw the colours I just knew I needed to make a card with those colours. The whole card is built around the chocolate bags, so they would fit perfect into the little pocket.

The techniques behind getting this result is quite easy and here is a video on how I did step by step.

When measuring your coffee or chocolate baggies remember to add about a quarter of an inch extra to the width and height to make upp for the thickness of the baggies to make them fit in the pocket.
