Happy Day of Birth

Hi friends! Angel here to share a card that I made today. I recently moved from Georgia to Florida and the last few weeks have been crazy. My craft room still has a few boxes here and there but hopefully I will have it all unpacked soon!

I wanted to challenge myself to make a card without using any stamps or ink. I wanted to focus on patterned paper and I think I did a pretty good job with it!

I cut a piece of white card stock to make a 5x5 square card. I used patterned paper from the latest Beach Party Kit  to create strips to fit on the card. I absolutely love all of these bright colors and the designs on everyone one of them! I added the adorable pink and yellow stickers also from the kit to create the focal point of the card. I added two wood veneers from another kit called Sending Sunshine and then added 2 enamel dots to the middle.

Don't be afraid to challenge yourself with something that is out of your norm. It's fun to create with just paper and stickers. It gives it an old school feel to back when all we had was paper and stickers.

Hope you enjoyed the card today. I'll see you next week. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks For Being Awesome

Hello friends! Angel here again to share a card using a new stamp set and an older stencil set! I love that all of the products can be used together to create beautiful designs.

I have not used stencils in a long time and felt the urge to do so. I went to my stash and found the one that jumped out at me. Not literally. That would have just been weird, right? Anyways.... I created the card around the stars and used that as my focal point.

I started out with a piece of smooth white card stock and a foam blending tool. I placed the stencil over the top of the card stock and very carefully applied a grey ink from my stash on to the paper. I love the pop of white that the stars create. I then used a thanks stamp from the new Mini Thanks set inside a few of the stars. I cut out of the stars and popped it up on foam squares. I used the "for being awesome" sentiment from the same set and stamped it using orange ink from my stash. I cut the card base slightly smaller on the left side and adhered a piece of orange card stock to bring out the orange on the card. I adhered the card base to an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of white card stock and then sprinkled some orange and sparkling clear sequins across the card.

Pull out something that you haven't used in a while to get some use out of it! I forgot how much I love stencils and the way it looks on a card. You can use dye inks instead of the normal distress inks. They work just as great!

You can find all products in the online store here. There are so many amazing things to choose from. I hope you like what I created for you today! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

And the new "Neat & Neutral" enamel stickers:

This post combines the Countdown "2" and "1" - I've been so busy with all kinds of things that I just couldn't manage to get a post done yesterday. Also I promised to include a release close up video which took me ages this time - It's n uploading and will be available soon.

First up is a layout by Terhi  who used Aloha Spirit for this Layout. Unfortunately this is Terhi's last Layout for the team - she had to say goodbye to take care of her family. She will be missed a lot, but maybe she'll be back some day. I just lover her colorful layouts - this is no exception!

Here's Anni's creation: She made a wonderful colorful card and used the new dies for some super eyecatching inlaid diecutting. I never thought about not using the tiny inlaid pieces. That's genius!

Angel also used Aloha Spirit and the the Thanks Twice dies - what a wonderful colorful background - and look at that sparkle!

And finally some more cards by me ;)

Well, this was a lot to see and be inspired by and we hope you love this new release just as much as we do. :)

You Make My Heart Happy

Hello friends! Angel here to share a sweet and simple watercolor card using distress inks and embossing powder.

I love distress inks. They are one of my absolute favorite mediums to use. I am constantly amazed at all they can do and how beautiful they can make a card look. I knew I wanted the colors red, black and white. At first, I thought the hearts had to be red but I'm glad I used the white.

I used distress watercolor card stock to apply the Candied Apple distress ink across the paper. I let the ink and water have a mind of it's on and go where it wanted. Once I liked how it looked, I used my heat tool to dry it completely. I stamped three different hearts from the Color Your Heart Out stamp set using Versamark ink. I masked a few of the hearts to look as though they were behind others. The white embossing powder makes the hearts pop right off the card. The sentiments are also stamped in Versamark ink on black card stock also using white embossing powder. I cut the panel slightly smaller than the card and placed it on black card stock. I created faux stitching lines along the top and bottom to finish off the card.

Try using any bold color distress ink with white embossing powder to help it pop off your paper. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Next up is our new DT member Angel: She used Doctor's Helpers and some watercolors for a simple and cute get well card. What I love about this is that although it uses that cutie-mouse it still looks like an adult-card :)
