layering different diecuts/ digital cuts

Happy sunday everyone!

Have you been crafty this week? Maybe you created some beautiful projects - please share them on our Flickr-page so we don't miss a thing ;) you will also find some inspiration there :)

Today I'd like to share a card that uses different dies/digital cuts. I usually don't combine too many different shapes, but I used three different shapes and stacked them on each other to create a focal point. I was surprised how well this works.

I think mail points to make this work, are:
  • use simple shapes
  • make sure they are different sizes
  • make them pop by having different colors.
It's that easy. The doily shape was cut out with my Silhouette and colored with Copics. The second layer - a banner - was left blank - but it has a stitched line for some detail. The hello was cut out with a Papertrey Ink die from a piece of cardstock that was covered with washi.

See the dog peeking out behind the banner? You can totally use that image from Your View without the window - just find some nice place for him to peek out :)
The sentiment is from Friends In The Woods - I thought it looks nice, bent around that circle shape. What an easy card with detail, dimension and color - and so much fun to make.

I'd also like to share another info with you.
Tomorrow's my birthday - and we'll celebrate by having a 8% off code - good for 24hrs. (8/18/82 just screams for 8% ;) )
The code will be published on our Facebook page some time tonight. Make sure to get our notifications so you don't miss it :)
